To,
The Honorable Prime Minister
Government of India
Respected Honorable Prime Minister,
We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. While we congratulate you for being sworn in to the high chair for the third term and the Nation has high expectations from you, in the same spirit, we are writing to express our utmost concerns regarding the recent allegations of misconduct during the NEET UG 2024 exams.
These allegations, which include instances of unfair practices, question paper leaks, and other irregularities like marks allotment etc. have cast a shadow on the integrity of this highly competitive examination.
As you are well aware, NEET UG is a pivotal examination for thousands of aspiring medical students across the country. It is not merely a test but a gateway to their future careers and dreams. Any compromise in the sanctity of this examination undermines the faith of the students and their parents in the entire educational and evaluative process.
Given the gravity of the situation, we urge you to initiate the highest level of enquiry into these allegations. It is imperative that a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation be conducted to ascertain the veracity of these claims and to hold accountable those found guilty of any misconduct.
Specifically, we, from West Bengal Doctors Forum request the following actions be taken:
1. Immediate Formation of a High-Level Committee: Constitute a special committee comprising esteemed members from various fields, including education, law enforcement, and judiciary, to investigate the allegations.
2. Independent Audit: Engage an independent third-party organization with expertise in examination audits to review the entire process of NEET UG 2024, from question paper creation to distribution and conduct of the exam and evaluation of all answer sheets.
3. Whistleblower Protection: Ensure protection and anonymity for individuals who come forward with information regarding the alleged misconduct.
4. Swift and Transparent Communication: Keep the public informed about the progress of the investigation through regular updates, ensuring transparency and maintaining public trust.
5. Stringent Punishments: Enforce strict penalties for those found guilty to deter future misconduct and uphold the integrity of the examination process.
The future of our nationâs healthcare system rests on the shoulders of these aspiring medical professionals. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that their journey begins with a fair and credible assessment process.
We trust that under your leadership, the Government will take all necessary steps to address these serious concerns and restore the credibility of the NEET UG examination.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. We look forward to your prompt and decisive action.
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Sanjay Holme Chowdhury, Hony. Secretery
