বছর বদলেছে একটা নতুন দিন শুরু হয়েছে কিন্তু আমরা জানি সময়ের পরিবর্তন হয়নি, অভয়া এখনও বিচার পায়নি, ভয়ের রাজনীতি ও জনস্বাস্থ্য নিয়ে আমরা যে দাবিগুলি করেছিলাম তার কোনরকম বাস্তব প্রতিফলন আমরা এখনও দেখতে পাইনি। ক্রমাগত CBI তদন্তের গাফিলতির রূপ স্পষ্ট হচ্ছে, অভিজিৎ মন্ডল ও সন্দীপ ঘোষকে ৯০ দিন গ্রেফতার করে রেখেও অভয়ার ধর্ষণ ও খুনের মামলায় তথ্যপ্রমাণ লোপাট নিয়ে একলাইনের চার্জশিটও তারা তৈরী করতে পারেনি। বিভিন্ন কেন্দ্রীয় সংস্থার রিপোর্টগুলি একে একে সামনে আসছে এবং স্পষ্ট হচ্ছে যে, কলকাতা পুলিশ এবং CBI-এর সম্মিলিত ব্যর্থতা অভয়ার বিচারের পথে অন্তরায় হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে।

One year ends and a new year begins, but the times, they do not change. A new year has begun, but Abhaya has not yet been delivered justice, we are yet to see any concrete actualisation of the demands we made to end threat culture and uplift pubic healthcare.
The role of the CBI in the investigation procedure has been questionable and with time, the negligence of the CBI and the resultant failures have become all too clear. Even after 90 days of the arrest of Sandip Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal in regard to evidence tampering in the rape and murder case of Abhaya, the CBI despondently failed to produce a chargesheet.
In the light of recently surfaced reports of various central investigative agencies, it is becoming abundantly clear that the combined failures of the Kolkata Police and the CBI have become obstacles in the way of Abhaya’s justice.
But even when things appear to be bleak, we still cling to hope and continue fighting tooth and nail for what we deserve, but there is more to be said.
